Star-struck

Dear diary,

TVB Awards 2007 was over. I felt relieved yet heavy-hearted.

Building up the stage.

Nice Colour Cubes on the stage.

Full Dress Rehearsal

Full Dress Rehearsal

It was a great event that provide me with a lot of learning opportunities but also high rate of kena scolding. Nevermind nevermind nevermind, i just have to be strong. Those harsh treament pays off eventually… i learned a lot about set design, live show planning etc.

during Red Carpet event.

Despite the sorrow, I’d lotsa of fun that night. The stars made my day. If you don’t know yet, I’m actually a big fan of Hong Kong TVB series (especially the mod ones). That’s what make me super duper excited throughout the night. If you think the VVIPs got the best seats, then you’re wrong. The best seats are actually at the backstage. Well, i’m just trying to console myself for missing the entire show because I need to standby backstage throughout the process. blah…it doesn’t really matter. that’s my job.

These are the sceneries captured backstage:

Isn’t she beautiful with those curls?

I really appreciate the privileage treament from my producer and some of the kind-hearted friends I made. truly madly deeply, Thanks. even if it’s just a smile. that helps a whole lot.

Damm happy because…

my favourite star of the night…she’s just way too elegant!

It’s Tuesday now…I’m back to work again after a day off yesterday. I feel a stringent pain on the 2 sides of my head. I think I really haven’t been resting for too long.

Lonesome

Posted on January 23rd, 2008 @ 9:59 am

Dear diary,

It feels so good to be at home on a weekday morning.

Not a working day; no pressure; no rush; pure relaxation.

Although it’s holiday, I got loads to accomplish.

Recently, my financial status is not very good. I’ve got outstanding car loan, school fees etc to settle.

Yesterday i felt kinda gloomy and lonely…i slept right away once I’m back from Latin dancing.

I’m glad that despite my indifference, not all friends forget about me. At least on this holiday morning, I’ve got SMSs asking me out.

You guys killed my lonesome.

Exhaustion

Posted on January 20th, 2008 @ 1:44 am

Dear diary,

It has been a hectic week. I have been working extra hours plus weekends.

If I were to use one word to describe this process…it gotta be “exhausted”. I really feel super tired…I feel like I’m forever lack of sleep…forever dry and weak…forever yawning…is this the sign of excess fatigue? i hope it’s not…because i’ve another long long week ahead.

Despite the exhaustion, I’m looking forward to TVB Awards Night (26th Jan). I hope everything turns out fine…especially the ‘ticketing’ part because that’s my responsibility.

Today I overheard some chatters… I was hurt by it. this is really a cruel world…this atrocity is killing me softly. I don’t know how long more can I live in this brutal phenomenon where complication exists. it’s way too abrupt…i’m not ready yet.

Solution

Posted on January 16th, 2008 @ 7:46 pm

Dear diary,

It’s 8:16pm. I’m still in the office.

I’m working on the seating plan of TVB Awards 08. The huge number of seats are driving me crazy! Truly, Madly, Deeply; good organization is the key to not screw up. Now I realized the role of Microsoft Excel in life.

At the same time, I’m also responsible for Classic Golden Melody 08. Hence, I’ll be working throughout the weekend again.

I never feel tired about it because I’m glad that I’m given a role in those programmes.

I’m starting to love what I’m doing now…despite the pressure and all, I’m learning to be tougher, more sociable and flexible.

Once I’m down and demotivated, I will tell myself that the failure that I’m facing is my opportunity to learn; it’s my chance to shine. My job is to solve my own mistakes. Most importantly, i have to remind myself to be firm, calm and steady in solving the problems. Therefore, never get demotivated by failure. Ironically, get motivated by them.

I’m thankful that my producer never scolded me for my mistakes. Plus, the rest of the team are all super nice…guiding me through this. They are the ones who made me learn.

I hope my +ve spirit lasts. it’s gonna be a long week ahead…

A day at work

Posted on January 11th, 2008 @ 6:03 pm

It’s 6.28pm of a Friday. I’m still in the office.

On my way to work this morning, I stopped by McD to get myself a cup of hot coffee – not a bad way to start a morning though! I left my mobile phone at home today. That makes me feel like I’ve lost a hand.Life’s extra dull without it man.

Tomorrow is a Saturday (my favourite day) and I need to work. That’s sad! This is the downside of the Broadcasting realm I suppose. I shall bear with it until the end of it.

Rising

Posted on January 8th, 2008 @ 1:52 am

Dear diary,

I’m here to motivate myself again.

“If I can go through this with grace, I will be different and…
of course get better in life.”

Most importantly, I need to be firm and confident. Plus, I have to strengthen my adaptation skills.

I need to get used to the culture of the TV station; get used with the people; the language; the softwares.

I have super a lot more to learn in life. Way too much indeed.

2am, I’m trying to complete my task. Not a difficult one though – i just need to search for some classic songs of 罗文.

What I need most now is: SLEEP.
and I need INSPIRATION too. (a lot of this would definitely help)
plus MOTIVATION. (to keep me going)

my working life

Posted on January 7th, 2008 @ 2:58 am

Dear diary,

All of a sudden, I miss uni days so much.

Working in the TV station is restless…perhaps I’m just not used to it yet…”it” here refers to the life of “Producers”. I’m attached to the Chinese Production Department. Just like how the name sounds, it’s all about producing programmes. eg. Go Go Trendy, 电视剧大奖 etc.

So far what I’ve got in mind are: the people are quite nice and life is glamourous. Artist come and go. blah blah blah. let me tell u more in my upcoming posts.

It’s 3.11am. I better go to bed now. Tomorrow I’ll be out for shooting.

Christmas 07 updates

Posted on January 2nd, 2008 @ 2:26 am

Dear diary,

Time FLIES. I can’t believe that it is already year 2008. I haven’t officially say good bye to 2007. I haven’t even blog about my Christmas’07 and my Cambodia trip’07……

……and it’s already 2008.

At least I have cleaned up my room for the brand new year and get myself a new planner for year 2008.

my new planner

I’m more than satisfied with this planner – it’s sweet, colourful and there’re monthly schedules in it. I like to overlook my schedule in a glance rather than big bold daily ones.

My Year End Updates

24 December 2007 (Christmas Eve)

I woke up on 2pm as usual. Had my lunch. and the door bell rang.

To my surprise, I received pink roses!! I’m amazed and gone speechless for a few seconds. This is the cutest bouquet I have ever received. There are super cute blue bears chunked inside the flowers. It put a smile on my face because I fancy teddy bears.

Evening, I went to Etoile, Equatorial Hotel for a very special christmas eve dinner. With proper arrangement, we get a reserved table along with 3 course meal + Chardonnay (white wine).

The food is good, the wine goes well with the food! Everything seems so perfect…the chatter, the companion, the setting and there’s Santa Clause coming by to give us candies…a red rose is given to the ladies at the end of the meal. This is so ‘valentine day‘ man! But it’s not, it’s Christmas Eve!
my chilled CHARDONNAY

APPETISER – SALAD OF BARRAMUNDI WITH SCALLOPS AND BUSH TOMATO SALSA

SOUP – CHIPOTLE PERPPER PERFUMED MEDITERRANEAN FISH SOUP

MAIN COURSE – TURKEY

DESSERT – MIXED NUT PARFAIT WITH CANDY GINGER

RED ROSE

A PEEP OF THE CITY

After the super duper nice dinner, I spent the rest of my night in Pavilion and Starhill. Just feel like going the posh way this year. I rest my legs somewhere around Ritz Carlton’s lounge…listening to the Jazz singer singing “L-O-V-E” along with piano accompaniment. followed by “When You Say Nothing at all” etc. This is pure indulgence I would say. Great ambient; Excellent Music!

RITZ CARLTON’S LOUNGE

WHITE CHRISTMAS IN STARHILL

SUPER NICE CHANDELIER IN MARRIOT, KL

As midnight approaches, the live singer in Starhill did a lil’ simple count down and we just hang out with the crowd there…counting down to Christmas!

Knowing that alcohol will perfect the night … I headed to La Bodega, Pavilion for some cocktails.

I had Cosmopolitan, Mojito and Baileys on the Rock. There is guest DJ in the pub to spice up the night…loud music, crazy party people and alcohol. The manager treated us 2 shooters – Baileys + Butterscotch. I know I’m not that good at drinking…but it’s not very good to not drink because someone is treating you…plus you need to drink it at one shot. that’s why it’s called ’shooter’. Luckily there’s someone to drink it up for me. thank God I don’t have to get drunk at this beautiful night of Christmas Eve.

MOJITO AND COSMOPOLITAN IN LA BODEGA

BAILEYS ON THE ROCK

25 December 2007 (Christmas Day)

Spent my day in Pavilion again. I watched “I am Legend“. Will Smith is damm good at acting I have to admit. But…”I am Legend” is not my type of movie. I didn’t really enjoy it. However, there is some sort of hidden values in the movie which makes it quite significant.

Before the movie, I ordered Baileys on the rock in La Bodega. I think I’m addicted to Baileys. Another good thing that happened on Christmas day was – I received Casis Rose Perfume which I’ve long yearned for. It is nearly miracle for me to seek for a perfume that is light and mild and won’t make my heads turn round. Lotus Petal smells good too but I only get to choose one and I’ve chosen Casis Rose. Anyway, I’m thankful about it.
