Dear diary,
With the presence of sunlight and wind, today, the weather is simply temperate!
I wanted to live today the way i love it.
It’s not always about hanging out, shopping or extravagant dinners.
Being a homey feels as good, it’s always about how you live it.
Indeed, holiday is a reason to celebrate!
My day begun quite late. was home-alone & car-less.
I was hungry but lazy. Hence, I decided to make myself a simple and quick brunch, nothing fancy.

Butter-pan-fried frankfurters, boiled brocolli and cabbages, prune, red chilli and grape juice.
Just like one of the breakfasts I’d in London. ehm, not entirely. but similar.
I remember myself sleeping-over in an English home and wanted to do some Chinese cooking. But the English family do not have cooking oil and kuali (wok)! all they have in the kitchen are butter, parsley and a pan! so i used butter to pan-fry veg and ‘grilled’ some beef , top with parsley! it was just fun memories to be kept.

one of the many homes i dropped by.

it’s winter and i look fat in the layers of clothing, ain’t I?
outside the home in Montem Lane.
in another cosy home in the suburbs of Brighton.
It’s beautiful ! i want a home like this too!
This couple is my dad’s landlord while he’s studying in UK back then.
We’re greeted with sincerity and warmth.
a pic-worthy nook.
Peter and Sam’s Residence.
books= asset. now i see why. only if i wore a nicer pull-over.
Alrights, enough of the English tales. You’ll see me talking more about it the next time when I’m inspired to.
After the filling brunch, I started to munch-on some sour-cream & onion Ruffles, twirl-up on my bed-converted-couch, watching P.S. I love you from my lappie.

Not shameful to admit, I’m indeed weeping all the way!
“It’s just a sad & heart-felt love story!”
I wish I watched it with someone whom shoulders i can weep on. but sad I didn’t.
so if you haven’t watch it and wish to watch it, watch it with your beloved or your friends! it’ll be fun, crying together.

Dear diary,
It’s really time to take care of my car.
I often wanted to but I don’t know how. $$ is the utmost-factor.
Earlier when i was having a lil’ chat with my dad, he informed me of the serious problems my car is facing as a result of insufficient maintenance.
I feel very bad to see my car worn out day after day.
I’m a car-lover and this shouldn’t be the way.
now that it’s holidays, i’ll have all the time in the world to pamper my car. but not the money.
poor thing!

Dear diary,
It’s just miraculous, to be up early on a weekday morning.
The sun is not pricking hot before 12 noon; i get a glimpse of the breakfast show on TV.
My day begun with a hot warm bath, dressing up and then a cup of coffee in the coffee parlor.

i’m only willing to splurge this as motivation for a tough day;
never a thirst-quencher.
9:20am, i’m set to work. you curious? where, what, who, how?
nah, as usual, in a PR firm.
it’s good to have this opportunity to understand more about the spin doctor’s job.
Working is not always depressing.
in fact, being a homey can sometimes be depressing!
this post is published from the office.

Not too bad a workspace huh!

Dear diary,
Nowadays, I spend quite a fortune on beauty prods.
Just like the Chinese sayings, 这个世界上没有丑女人,只有懒女人。
and since it’s holiday, I decided to pamper myself.

Kononnya this thing can extend lashes. I wonder if it really works?!
Never try never know.
my regretful purchase!
too expensive for my taste.
in fact, I’m not willing to spend too much $ on mascara.
but then, Sasa’s salesgirl is forever very pushy and irritating!
I just don’t heart them! don’t like the way they sell products.
arrogant bitches!
i’m so in the mood for bright colours.
the strong fruity scent is the sole-force of this purchase.
Strawberry Yogurt Mask – one of my regular purchase.
it’s only RM3+ frm Sasa.
i thought it’s quite refreshing!
I happen to find these vintage print-ads in a shop @ Jonker Street, Malacca.
i’ve an extreme affection towards vintage stuff.
i think I’m gonna frame these posters and use them as decorative elements for my room’s wall.
This is too, from Malacca.
I heard from a friend that this thing can help you eliminate bad dreams and get sweet dreams instead.
i hang it on the headboard of my bed.
surprisingly, i really get sweet dreams the first night after the hang.

Dear diary,
it’s holiday and I’ve watched several notable films recently.
Saturday night, I attended Amir Muhammad’s screening (Amir’s Mystery) in KLPAC.
KLPAC – a YTL project.
it’s not my 1st visit to KLPAC. but still, i always think it’s a very pleasant nice place to hang out. There’s a lot of green, a fine lake and Zen garden. it effortlessly draw u closer to nature and free you from stress! and oh, i love the architecture!

the concept of glass building turns me on.

We had dinner in this Jap Cuisine by the Koi pond.
I had Butter-fried Salmon.
The menu lack of variety and the food is not very welcoming!
Da Huang Pictures Indie Film Screening. Free entrance.
I’m planning to attend James Lee’s screening on the 19th and 26th Oct.
I kinda love indie films esp. the contemplative momments of decoding the movie’s subtext.

Today, ‘The Big Durian’ is screened. it is a documentary-alike film which talks mainly about ISA and other political scenes of M’sia. the treatment is a combi of VO and interviews.
i thought the messages conveyed were quite direct and straight-forward with minimal subtexts.
unlike ‘Majidee’.
though it’s worth a watch if you wish to get a 2nd view on the current political scene.
The other film which I’ve watched is ‘Mamma Mia‘ the musical.

At first, i thought i’m not gonna like it because i’m not very fond of musicals. but after watching it, i thought it was a great film! probably because i love the music and the setting of the Greek island resort.
I’m curious …. why musical? what’s the intention of slotting-in musical elements in a film?
and then I find out…
Musical is to use song lyrics to curve the context of the plot and develop film characters. (Wikipedia, 2008)
Hence, it’s meaningful to pay attention to the lyrics and relate them to the characters.
Last but not least, I’ve watched ‘Money Not Enough II‘.
The storyline is superb meaningful and touching! that i can’t help but tears fall.
maybe because it relates to my life pretty much. having to cope with Dymensia patients requires uber-high EQ! and the film says it all.

Dear diary,
It has been a week. Time flies. I hang out everyday.
I bought a DIY Miniature Kit from Malacca and work it out with Iris.
The process is fun!

We were insane! Every night, we would surely hang out – movies, supper, luna bar etc.

Dear diary,
It’s getting dark, we are about to start our journey down south.
it is my first time driving outstation. and it’s night. there’s a stretch on the highway – not lighted. i enjoy the speed, uncertainty & adrenaline rush.
4 of us, in less than 2 hours time arrived at our destination – Malacca.
Generally, it is a superb experience that now i yearn for more!
first thing first, we check-in to Queenspark Hotel -Family Room, RM148/night. There are 2 queen beds. Good thing is: each of us has our own comfortable nook to crawl-in-to.
Then, we have Satay Celup for dinner. They said ‘Capitol’ is the best in town. and therefore we dine in that shop.
In fact, it’s not my 1st time in Capitol Satay Celup. I used to dine in this shop equally twice a year. Despite the numerous visits, it never let me down.

Capitol Satay Celup

not looking my best.
Alcohol could not be less. We then headed to
Geographer’s Cafe located in Jonker street. It’s one of the tourist attraction in town.
The ambient was good! Rock ‘n’ roll music or romantic love songs could be heard. There’s this live singer. He has a very unique bass tone. The liberal Ang mohs merrily dance by their tables. It’s overwhelming to see a scene like this!

the interior
We took a seat outdoors. ambient was good!
Cocktails!!
(Front Left) Harvey Wallbanger, Geographer’s Delight
(Back left) Heineken, Blue Lagoon

me and my
blue lagoon.
halfway through drinking, we walked over to this antique convenient store in Jonker Street – to get a toothbrush for myself. i left that out while packing.

Around 12 midnight, we headed back to the hotel room. The alcohol session must go on!

Mirror-reflection is a must, just like those in Shyamalan’s films.

Different flavours of Storm Cocktails. the worst cocktail ever.
the portions are not nicely leveled.
my attempt to endorse the product.
The night in the hotel room was greatt!! Besides alcohol, we played cards and make so much noise that the receptionist came up and warn us, twice.
Imagine! we’re in the 3rd floor and our ear-splitting yells could be heard at the ground floor lobby!
we slept on 4am and woke on 9am.
The next morning…I’m all-ready for the day. but, i wish i had more sleep. to ease up the swell of my eyes.
hotel lobby.
Our objective this trip is to look for deli local delights.
For breakfast…we had…

Taiwanese spare-ribs noodles
i thought it was really deli!
though the portion is quite small.
but better still, our belly can cater more food.
Then, we headed to Jonker Street and make our stop in:
青云亭
posing in the temple.

nice wordings on the door.

Then, we begun to
shop along Jonker…
appreciating artwork.
impressive wall-art

We then make a stop at this shop which sells trick toys. We spent 1/2 an hour to learn tricks from the boss of the shop. it was really fun! each of us mastered one trick…

i’m trying to master the 神秘宝盒。
After all the shopping, we continue to hunt for good food….
i like this pic. everyone seems so natural!
As a wrap to our adventures in Jonker Street, we went to this lil’ shop that sells cendol and laksa.

Nostalgic Interior. They even air nostalgic mandarin songs!
The ever-famous cendol in Jonker Street.
Chicken Rendang, Baba Laksa and Nyonya Laksa.
The food is greatt!
my personal favourites are Asam Laksa and Cendol.
After meals, we played with bubbles.
The car that bring us around.
We were lucky, the weather is not too hot. But still, we wanted to chill in the air-conditioned compound. Hence, we headed to Dataran Pahlawan. I once heard of this deli cake shop called Nadige (not too sure. sounds something like this.) in Dataran Pahlawan. We decided to give it a try.
Ordered Strawberry crepe and chocolate banana crepe. also had hot tea and iced coffee to go with it.
Strawberry Cake. this is super super super delicious! it tastes like ice-cream…or cream or….i don’t know, but it’s just so deli and made a huge impression in me.

少奶奶 havin’ high tea.
Our one-and-only-one group pic.
a shop in Jonker that sells pineapple cookies.
love the lens-flare.
Initially, we wanted to have Satay in Kota Laksamana but it only open during the afternoons.
Before we leave Malacca, we had fried oyster and wan-tan-mee.
In short, it was a great journey!
Spontaneously and randomly, we drove along the roads of Malacca town and eventually, we had lotsa nice food, fun and laughters!
Road trips can never be road trips without friends.

Dear diary,
I’m too sad to blog nowadays.
Life is good without the exams but shattered in a way.
I had an accident. my car’s rear bumper is seriously dented. i’m damm sad!
While i was reversing from a parking lot, a car abruptly pop out from a junction and bump into me.
a devastating dent!
I swear I was at less than 5 km/h speed reversing superb slowly!! and i even made brief pauses to make sure there’s no cars! but my cautious traits did not do me good because the blardy car was speedy! why the FxxK are u speeding in a back lane.
a bumper gonna cost me Rm1000. for me, it’s a huge amount.
Secondly, my piano exam results are out. As predicted, I fail miserably. 20 marks to passing.
this is devastating! that means all the stress, pressure and hard work that I’ve gone through once upon a time are now officially valueless.
i need to go through that process again. it’s so gonna kill me.
i haven’t been smiling for days.

Dear diary,
Now that exams are over, i can blog without guilt. i prefer my blog with many short posts rather than one long post. but sometimes, you just have too much to say at one go!
Friday is one of my fav days, after Saturdays.
Especially when it’s a Fri night after exam….
before hitting the clubs, we went the posh way and had Margarita in Laundry Bar.
chatters, laughters, drinkters.
(oh, i just wanna make it rhymes.)

Margarita tower

myself and jo the backpacker
then…we went up to Sanctuary.
but …. it was so packed! hence, we left for Scarlet.
Some may not like Sanctuary the way it is. But i love it. because it gives me the feeling of the Carlsberg Ad , the one with the theme song ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’.
that everybody will shout the chorus lines out loud. and the music they have are more to pop.
not the current Carlsberg ad but seriously, that’s my fav ad ever.
i’m just a slave to commercials, ain’t I? maybe i should go into advertising. i love ads. but duh, loving is one thing; committing is another.
Scarlet didn’t satisfy me at all.
indeed, i don’t like that place at all.
i dislike the music, i dislike the waiters.
Since too lil’ of us are drinking, we ordered Heineken instead of Liquor.
sounds so wrong isn’t it? to drink beer in clubs.
but who cares? it’s just a norm and we’ve just deviated from the norm.

cheers!

i love this picture! everyone looks like a star!
it’s taken by Gordon Ford (a Scotlander) which iris walk away with that night.
After clubbing, we headed to Murni for supper. Supper on 4am! to me, it sounds more like breakfast.
Anyways, I succeed to wake on 8:30am the next morning and hit the pool! i went swimming.
After swimming, i was treated with a jap buffet in Uma Ya (uptown branch). The ambient is good. and … you don’t have to walk around to get your own food.
it’s buffet as in you order anything you want. ANYTHING from the buffet menu. and they’ll serve you, fresh and instant.
and there’s free flow of Tiger beer.

free flow of ice-cream too
i begin to not like beer. i feel bloated every time i take it. esp too much of it.
anyways, thnx buddy for the fantastic treat !
really appreciated it loads.
and later that afternoon, i attended PS3 launch. i’m not a gamer but i love events and technology. maybe i should go into event-management. haha. i just can’t make up my mind yet. but it’s time to.

No, this is not a mirror reflection. it’s a Sony Bravia, cam-corded.
i will master photography soon.

the event let you have free prints on the spot from your DSLR.
it’s a great sales gimmick indeed!

with the cosplayers.
i particularly love this photo because i manage to naturally smile with my teeth visible.
I headed back home for the night and sleep on 10pm. now it’s 6 and i’m awake. thinking of going for a swim. my hesitations will be eliminated only if my friends were here. i don’t like to swim alone.
hooray! it’s holiday.
