The Poolside Story

Dear diary,

Evening, the weather looked pretty good. I grabbed my camera and went down to the 2nd floor poolside.

Trying, trying to capture good shots. Three things to keep me busy: shutter speed , aperture & composition.

Lights coming up.

“Are you professional photographer?” A lady holding 2 kids asked me, in her strong Indian accent.

“No, just hobby.” I answered.

“Where’re you from?” I tried to be friendly.

“India…” She goes on, “…me and my husband, we’re doing shipping business here in Malaysia, we rented a unit here, on the 38th floor.”

I smiled and continued to take pictures, of her little daughter.

“We’re looking for ambitious people to join us. We’ve an upcoming seminar, maybe you give me your number, I’ll ring you.”

Being sceptical, I thought to myself, “She’s just trying her luck, I’m sure.”

But still, just to be friendly, I gave her my number.

We continued to chat for a while, on and off, with her chasing her kids, and me, taking my pictures.

I wonder, what’s she trying to get me into.
