Dear Ocean mummy, wow, you’ll be spending Christmas in Tokyo, it’ll be great, trust me! But yes I agree it’s gonna be quite challenging to bring your kid with you during winter, as I feel winter in Tokyo is really cold, especially at night. And during winter, the sky turns dark around 4pm. Hence, there’s not much time especially if you’re going to outdoor attractions such as Disneyland etc. as these spots are nicer during the day. And like for Meiji Shrine, it closes on 4pm during winter. But anyhow winter will be a different experience altogether and you’ll be fine. I brought a winter jacket but I wore 3 layers inside, along with scarf, gloves and hat too. I brought an extra layer in my handbag just in case and most of the time I would use it esp during the night. I would say the One-Day-Mt. Fuji Tour I joined was really worth it (though a bit pricey)! I saw a lot during that day and everything is well-taken care of (transport, itinerary etc.) The tour guide is really good too.
