Dear diary,
We’ve been together for one year now.
To celebrate this special occasion, we booked a table in The Carat Club, for an extravagant dinner date.
#1 Of course, partly to utilize the cash vouchers.
#2 Seated by the glass panes, with a huge chandelier on the other side, a very lavish setting.
#3 Something I learned about fine dining, pick your cutlery from the outside towards the inside.
We opted for the 4-course meal, choice of each course at our discretion.
1. Entrée
#4 Scallop, one of my favourite food in this world. This was good, but still think the ones served in Frangipani were better.
#5 I’m not a fan of oysters, but according to Tim, this was very fresh and light.
2. Soup/Salad
#6 Seafood bisque with scallop, prawn etc. Yum! It was a bit fishy though.
#7 Maybe this would be a better choice, Mushroom Soup, filled with chunks of mushroom and uses the expensive truffle.
#8 Indulging in the ritzy space of the venue
3. Main Course:
#9 Tenderloin
This was far under my expectation. Everything just doesn’t blend well together. The sauce doesn’t compliment the steak at all, not to mention the tempura mushrooms on top.
4. Dessert:
#10 Lavender and Lychee Crème brûlée. This was average, still think the ones served in Dessert Bar were better.
#11 Tiramisu. Again, I’m not a fan of coffee flavoured desserts. But this is simply irresistible, according to Tim.
To sum up, for this price range, still think Frangipani would be a better selection. Anyhow, it was a pleasurable evening and I did enjoy every momment of it.

Very momentous dear! Where to next year??
carol,
