today’s happy trivia

Posted on December 12th, 2008 @ 2:41 am

Dear diary,

The happy thing that happened today:

2 wholly parcels arrived at my doorstep!

This is one of them! it’s quite a huge one.

Inside, it looks like this – my 3 months supply of beauty goodies.
most of them are recommendations of Taiwan beauty-show 女人我最大 & Taiwan beauty queen 大S.

probably because of my ‘generosity’ in increasing her sales, the seller decided to give me a ‘token of appreciation’ - some Korean brand mascara.

Receiving parcels are like eating chocolates! a bad day eventually turns good!

The other happy thing that happened today:

dad brought home 8 bottles of Kampai.

2 is already sitting in the fridge.
alcohol is best served chilled.
I shall drink it up someday when I’m super-high or super down.

When I said I’m addicted to food, I’m addicted to food like this:

….which are duper-unhealthy!

White chocolate! i love’em!

Ruffles!
my fav junk. coz it has a hippie-cool packaging and addictive ’sour cream onion’ flava.
I’ve been eating a lot lately, which is not a good sign. I either start exercising or stop eating.

quick-note: I no longer eat to fill my hunger; I eat because I love the food that I eat.

how browncow?!

Dear diary,

I’ve just finished watching HK series: 最美丽的第七天.

Initially, I thought this is not the kind of series I would go for. Through the posters and trailers, it looks very cinematic and aesthetic-oriented (something like Korean/Taiwan series) which is a big no-no for me. But then, people around me rated it highly and that became the reason why I started to watch it.

My thoughts after watching it:

“It is definitely a worthy watch!”

“Touching!”

“Absolutely good-looking leading male cast 郑嘉颖!”

On Thursday, I went for an interview in hope to be part of Red Bull’s mobile energizer team. Anyway, the outcome is not my main concern. Most importantly, i met new people and widen my exposure. I need to hold on to this belief and keep improving in life. So do you.

After the interview (in Bdr Sunway), I went to Sunway Pyramid and had late lunch in Wendy’s. Price is more or less like McDonalds but food is not as good as McDonalds.

Then I took a walk in Pyramid i.e. flung some cash away. Damm it!

I saw this miniature collectibles having Buy 5 Free 1 sales gimmick and can’t help but to purchase 5 of it. I hate having this expensive hobby. But I love indulging in the mini world of it. this is a love-hate relationship between me and miniature collectibles.

Besides, I get myself some nail polish tools and a set of cocktail glasses.

It feels real good to be in the shopping mall. but it doesn’t feels so good when money is gone.but it somehow feels good hunting down something i really love at a bargained price. this is yet another self-contradiction you see in me.

Also tried out Yogur Berry’s yogurt ice-cream. i would say it’s a good try! i shall come back for more in the future.

i love discounts 50% and above

Dear diary,

Oh my God!

How did Friendster’s horoscope say something that is so relevant to my life!

Every single day, it has something to say and its accuracy impresses me pretty much! I take those as guidances for daily decisions-making. ;)

I was hot and bored today. My mom saw me wandering pointlessly at home and later that night, she suggested that we hang out. I can’t resist but love to hang out. I don’t know when will i get bored of hanging out. I won’t, I guess.

Hence, I happily get dressed up and jet-off to Mid Valley. I drove and we chat on our way to MV. We talked about life, my future path, family etc. I always feel comfortable & my goals better-defined after chatting to my mom.

I can’t imagine a life without my mom or my dad. They both made up my whole. However, I realized that in some point of life, independence is a must. That’s why I would rather get issues settled myself without hoping for others’ favor. I want to be financially-independent and pay the bills instead. Often there’s this sudden sadness in me when I see my parents’ exhaustion and their hair gradually turning from black to gray. I want to set them free; I want to give them what they gave me all this years. This is my ultimate dream upon all my bits of reverie. I often shatter whenever I realized that I’m not there yet. :(

We reached MV on 9:30pm. That was late! our intention was not to shop but more to hanging out in a nice coffee parlor or going for a movie.

But……Body Shop is having mad sales!!!!! up to 70% discount. This is insane! Imagine a RM60 product priced RM18 after the discount. Don’t you think that it’s insane??!! I think it is. Plus, being a big fan of body shop, I totally lost control.
Holding on to minimum rationality, i bought:

In short, I love the scent; the fruity essence; Lotus Petal by Body Shop and last but not least, I love SALES.

All of a sudden, I love bathing. I gonna bath 5 times a day starting from tomorrow. *giggles*

After Body Shop, we headed to ACE Hardware to pick up some household items…

At last, we hang out in Jusco which is the only shop open till 11pm. It happens to be, Jusco is on sales too! But too bad, I don’t buy clothes from Jusco. I think it’s just not right for my taste. Instead I bought a fan to replace my mal-functioned old fan. I just wish…it’s in pink. Pensonic has one pink model (Refer to picture below) but too bad it’s a box fan and I’m anti box fan because it makes a lot of noise once it gets old. I ended up getting a purple fan from Panasonic. Not an eye-candy but who cares, as long as it does its job!

Pensonic Pink Box Fan. It’s RM150+, a bit too expensive huh!

A bad day eventually turns good! :)

Shopping in Bangsar!

Posted on April 30th, 2008 @ 12:56 pm

Dear diary,

Another 3 more days to my Beijing trip. I’m not fully-recovered yet. I’m still forbidden from sweet and heaty cravings. A vacation without alcohol and chocolates is not vacation at all! I need to get well but how?! Why is this terrible sickness not going away despite the plenty water I’ve drank?!

Putting that aside, I went shopping in Bangsar yesterday with the intention to grab some wardrobe stuff for my trip.

I didn’t drive there (rare case). because…my friend Kire offered to give me a ride in her brand new car!! How new is new?! she took her car in the morning and I’m in her car on that same afternoon. This is amazingly exciting! I don’t know why but I just feel so good about this…A few things I love about her car:

1. 2088 is a very nice number that she has;
2. Her car is black in colour – same with me;
3. the smell that only a new car has;
4. tinted glasses which isolates the heat of the sun-light and makes the interior real cooling on a hot sunny afternoon;
5. sporty skirting that her car has;
6. spacious interior;
7. leather seats with red threat;
8.the fact that it’s new;
9. she lets me have the priority to ride in her new car and i think this is what makes it best!

back to the Bangsar part, there were damm a lot of ‘independent’ boutiques in Bangsar Telawi Street! Each with their own unique names and thematic interior…among the catchy names that relentlessly remained in my memory are: dressed to nine, opsie daisy, gossip, baci, little black book, cats whiskers, sheer berry, amos, purpledotz, sevendays, elo“.

I think my favourite boutique is ‘elo‘ by Blook which provided couture-like shoes and accessories at a civilian price. I picked some reasonable jewelry from this shop.

The other shops that I went to basically provide over-priced ‘ok-not-very-attractive’ clothing. 无趣! I hate over-priced stuff!

We spent the day climbing numerous stairs because most of the boutiques are located at the first floor… this process is tiring but I kinda love the process of exploring the unknown; unmasking the veils of all mysteries. Luckily I have my pretty friend Kire to kill the boredom.

Cats Whiskers is having its 70% mad sales. Hence, I get myself a few items at a really reasonable price. At least I know I’m happy by the end of the day because I didn’t spend my money for non-worthy stuff.

I always wanted a dress that look something like this: (sad…I haven’t found one.)

What I love about the recent fashion trend:

1. Bright colours especially hot pink

2. Mini-dresses like the one in the pic above
3. Heels

4. Corsets

Oh ya, and there’s this one shop selling Japan-imported merchandises of Hello Kitty, Doraemon, Cinamonroll etc … Most of the items sold are in pink (for the Hello Kitty part). You can find original Hello Kitty rug, stationary, bookmarks etc in this shop…I’m overwhelmed by the cuteness of this shop but the price doesn’t favor me. I can’t help my ‘aunty’ behavior towards this…I just want my money spent at its best value. Hence, I picked a couple of cute reasonable stuff. Just a couple of it I swear.

A sneak of the shop -Photo grabbed from Claire

Remembering my mom’s advice to me before I left my house. She sounded like this: Don’t shop the whole Bangsar please.”

I was like: “I won’t, ok?!”

And now:”I didn’t, ok?!”

Dear diary,

I found my new interest – Miniature collectibles. Looking at it makes me extremely happy. I think it’s so cute & lovely! I just can’t help but to love it. How I wish I can have a display shelf in my room made of glass with halogens bulb in it; displaying the miniature items.

It looks real cute!!

I bought my very first set of miniature from Isetan, The Gardens. I always wanted the one from Action City but there’s no stock. Therefore, I got this instead…these are actually erasers! but don’t you think it’s too cute to be used?!

General view of it on my shelves…

Close-up

the way it looks – on my desk

Close-up; super refined…so lovely!

I’m so in-love with it!

Nowadays, I became quite close to a couple of make-up artists because of my job.

It’s fun to chat with them as I get loadx of make-up tips from them. They told me that Laura Mercier has real good foundation that I wouldn’t want to miss…

Today’ll be my last day of leave…I feel like checking it out in Pavilion or somewhere…but, I haven’t got a companion for my shopping trip. Let me go through my phone-book and see who’s available on this weekday afternoon.

and oh ya, i need to get myself a new pair of Latin heels…my silver one is so worn-out already…and it’s affecting my performance.

…looks like i’m gonna have a tight cashflow nowdays…serve me right for my compulsive shopping behavior.

p/s: I’ll be relocating my blog to a new URL. Sooner or later, if you see the message “blog not found”….and you’re still eager to read my blog…then you may come to me and I’ll give u my new blog add okay?! that’s the only perfect way I can think of….to filter my blog readers. *sigh* simply because some are harmful.
